GEORGE A. ROBERTS - BIOS
George Roberts dabbled in 3-dimensional artwork most of his life until about 1993 when his photography skills matured and he began to view his work as art.
His favorite camera is a basic Olympus - one that he picked up at a pawn shop and still treasures to this day. He prefers this traditional method of single lens reflex photography as opposed to the high tech digital. "Single Lens Reflex" George says, "allows no margin for error or manipulation when it comes to lighting, color or focus". In terms of subject matter, George longs for wintertime when he takes time out not only to admire the sunsets, but also, to capture them in photos as well. "December to January is a pique time for sunsets because of the tilt of the earth's axis", George says. In fact, the filtered light of the winter-cloud cover often enhances his images. This combined with the backdrop of the Channel Islands yield numerous opportunities for George to capture some brilliant moments.
