Well the weather hasn't really been co-operating lately, lots of wind and cold. However, the fisher guys and gals are still bringing in the Walleye Perch, Spanish Mackerel, Sea Trout and a few smaller Sharks, mostly Sand Sharks, Pinback Sharks and Batray Sharks, all have been tossed back cause they were just small fry.

The end of May and the beginning of June should bring a lot of Pacific Mackerel, Sardines, Yellow fin Croakers, Spot Fin Croakers, Thrasher Shark, Angel Shark and were hoping it also brings in the Halibut. That's usually the time the Corbina start showing up, they follow the sand crabs right into the shore, so using our amazing powers of deduction we decided ... hey if they are following the sand crabs, maybe we should use the sand crabs for bait. What do you know - it works.

We learned a new method of catching the larger Sea Trout, 15 to 16 inches. When we catch the Female Walleye perch and their pregnant we usually toss them back to insure more fish later. However, sometimes the Walleye's disgorge their sack of babies before we toss them back, we have learned that if you use the small babies for bait the large Sea Trout really go for them. Now if you catch a half dozen 15-inch Sea Trout. It makes for a real good dinner for 2 or 3 people.

For a real good time this summer that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, come out to the pier and catch your dinner. The kids really get a kick out of hauling in their first fish.
