All Hallows Eve is upon us and it's the ideal time to talk about spooky comics!
At Ralph's Comic Corner you can find all sorts of comics with ghosts
and goblins galore! "The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror" #14 is a
choice comic for the Halloween season. Treehouse of Horror is a $4.99
comic with a rotating cast of creators that comes out once a year.
Steve Niles, well known for his horror comics, writes and Glenn Fabry
illustrates a story of Homer J. Simpson and zombies! Fans of the
manga "Death Note" will enjoy the story written by Ian Boothby and
drawn by Nina Matsumoto entitled "Murder, He Wrote." Fan favorite
Gilbert Hernandez, creator of Love and Rockets, seals the deal with a
story entitled "Homerstein Conquers the World".
Looking for terrifying manga? Look no further than "Parasyte" by
Hitoshi Iwaaki for your horror needs. Aliens are invading Earth! But
they're not interested in enslaving our race, they want to enslave
and inhabit our brains! The twists and the turns will leave you
wanting more and Iwaaki delivers. The series has produced four
volumes so far that will provide hours of edge-on-your seat fun. And
for trivia buffs you'll be interested to know that the T1000 from
"Terminator 2: Judgment Day" was based off the parasitic arm attacks
featured in this story. Frightening!
The popular series "Marvel Zombies" tells of a virus that has
infected the Marvel Universe turning hero and villain alike into
zombies. 'Marvel Zombies' is a very well known comic that as been
collected into hardcover editions and trade paperbacks. One of the
many appealing aspects of the series is the covers that pay homage
to older, famous Marvel covers. If you like zombies, another title
you will love is "Walking Dead" by Robert Kirkman. The story follows
Rick, a small town sheriff, who awakes from a coma to find the world
is infested with zombies. The comic is drawn

in black and white to resemble a classic horror film. Between "Marvel Zombies" and "Walking
Dead" you're going to have more zombies on your hands than a George
Romero movie.
Finally, "Hellboy" is a comic that is best all year round!
Incidentally it has several ghosts and monsters so it makes a great
addition to your Halloween collection! Hellboy is the story of a
demon brought to Earth during World War 2 to destroy it. However, he
takes a liking to us humans and would rather protect us than destroy
us. Hellboy works to save the world with help from the US government
organization called B.P.R.D. (Bureau for Paranormal Research and
Defense) Together they investigate odd occurrences and keep the world
safe from the likes of witches, evil scientists, demons, vampires,
Nazis, and many other denizens of evil! Hellboy can be collected as
single issues, trade paperbacks, or hardcover editions. "B.P.R.D.,"
the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, is also an ongoing
series that can be collected in single and trade paperback. The foes
of both Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. are an excellent "Who's Who" of the
vile, evil creatures everyone should read about on Halloween!
